From 1980’s to 1990’s there were a lot of car lovers love to racing on the streets such as highways, national route and touge (mountain pass). Although it is illegal, there are still a bunch of street racers in Japan. There are few types of street racing culture in Japan which the writer will introduce them in this page.
ルーレット族(Pronounced as ru-retto zoku)
ルーレット族 will race on motorway which a high specification car is being demanded. Usually a high-powered car will be used in racing on a motorway since the road width of motorways are usually comparably wider and corners are usually long fast to let you turn in a higher speed.
